Frequently Asked

Questions,answered.

What does pecan oil taste like?

Subtly buttery and mild. Pecan oil has the richness of olive oil without the grassy or peppery notes, which is why it works for both savory cooking and baking. It won't overpower a vinaigrette or a delicate fish.

Can I really use it for everything?

Yes. The 470°F smoke point is high enough for searing and even deep frying, while the mild flavor means it works for finishing salads or baking. One bottle replaces butter, olive oil, and canola in most kitchens.

How should I store it?

Keep in a cool, dark place — a pantry shelf is ideal. Refrigeration isn't necessary but will extend shelf life. Use within 9 months of opening for best flavor.

Is it safe for nut allergies?

No. Zolio is made from pecans, which are tree nuts. Anyone with a tree nut allergy should not use this product. Our label clearly states 'Contains: Tree Nuts.'

Where are the pecans grown?

All Zolio pecans are sourced from Texas orchards. We expeller-press them without solvents, heat refining, or chemical processing.

How is it different from walnut or other nut oils?

Most nut oils — walnut, almond, hazelnut — have low smoke points and strong flavors, which limits them to finishing and dressings. Pecan oil has a much higher smoke point (470°F vs ~320°F for walnut) and a more neutral flavor, so it works as a true everyday cooking oil.
